Rock ART

Rock ART for Public Art Class
ART Rock Paper Scissor Alton DuLaney 2017
I incorporated my ART Rock into this conceptual piece exploring the power struggle of a children's game - Rock, Paper, Scissors. How would you use a rock to create a piece of ART?

Mail ART! WOOHOO!

I loveeeee this tiny project. I honestly googled more stuff about it and here is my mail art. Most of the classes I've taken here have been for graphic design so when I saw this postcard with Bauhaus I got super excited..Bye guys... Mail ART Karem Garcia-Loera 2017

Mail art

Before class I had a limited knowledge of mail art. However, I love to travel and look forward to being about to share art from my travels with my family, both at home and across the world. Can’t wait to experiment with it more!
Obviously, purple IS my favorite color!
I'm intrigued with the idea of objects being mailed, and taking on an art rhetoric both physically and conceptually.
Physically, through the creation of the object, whether taking an unconventional form, or adorning with packaging to create the art object itself.
The conceptual side I find most interesting, for example, sending pieces of a puzzle that patrons must assemble or collages that are dependent of outside participation. Relying on the commitment of others to contribute to the artist's idea is a risky move for seeing the piece come into fruition.

Mail Art Activity!

This was my first attempt at Mail Art and was my first time hearing about it as well! I really enjoyed the class about this and found all the different envelopes so interesting! I enjoyed making my own mail art and hope to make more in the future. I am excited to receive my envelope in the mail as well. Excited to learn more forms of public art and experience these, throughout the semester!

Mail art seems like a cool and different concept. I really enjoyed creating my first piece of mail art and I am anxiously awaiting my envelope to return. I have family friends that live in Gibraltar so I'm interested in attempting to send them some type of mail art as well.

Mail Art

Definitely something different for me, and I am looking forward to seeing where "Mail Art" goes.I'd like to incorporate some of the design elements of mail art into clothing; it would be interesting in fashion.

Mail ART Summer 2017

As part of my artist's residency in Marfa, Texas in the Summer of 2017, I created  a collection of Mail ART based on art tourism in Marfa, and the concept of the souvenir to commemorate a time or a place.

Small birch panels were branded with the word ART. The branding represents not only the burning of the wood, the marking of property especially with livestock, and the branding of the object as ART and the artist wielding the  red hot branding iron.

A collection of 24 cards were branded, embellished with a gold seal of art-authenticity, stamped and addressed to destinations around the world, including fellow-participants and artists from
