The houston center for contemporary craft offers an art residency for artists of many different crafts from clay to metal work and mixed medias. Museum visitors are able to see the artwork and visit the artist studio and watch them work. It's a good way to gain exposure into the community. The residency last 3-12 months and are given a 200 sq ft studio a monthly stipend and a small housing allowance ($600 per month). Residents are also considered for the Asher sales gallery. Applications open again January 1 2019. This residency seems to offer access to many important connections within the Houston art world.
