Argonaut by Jonathan KirkArtist residency is something I’m very happy to have discovered due to this class. I’ve heard about them before but never really asked. These are two artworks from artist in the program at Sculpture Space, a non-profit organization started in 1976 in Utica, New York. Artists in residence are provided with the space, equipment, expert technical assistance and specialized resources. They have access to make sculpture on a much larger scale that they otherwise might not be able to afford. This program selects between 18 and 20 artists during the year for two-month long residencies.
