When researching artist residencies, I tried to find a place that I have always wanted to travel to and been inspired by. For me, Greece is that place. The program takes place in Kavala, Greece, just on the coast of the Aegean Sea.

"The program offers the opportunity for an artist based in Europe and the Mediterranean whose main practice is photography focused to spend two weeks in June 2018 in Kavala, Greece. It is free to apply and the selected artist will have the opportunity to live and work in the coastal city in the north of Greece."

"The selected artist will be offered free accommodation in the five star Lucy Hotel in Kavala. The artist´s return trip from his/her country of residence is covered, as well as three meals a day at the hotel premises. Furthermore, a per diem and an artist fee for the production of one artwork will be provided."

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. If there are any photographers out there that happen to get this opportunity, make a trip down to Athens and snap me a picture of the Parthenon.

The deadline to submit your application is June 12-July 2.
